margaret dorfman makes functional objects - like jewelry and bowls - out of paper-thin slices of fruits and veggies coated with a clear coat of resin so that the colors and patterns are preserved forever. how cool is that?

{canteloupe bowl}

{beet, starfruit, and zuchinni cuffs}

{star fruit and daikon radish bowl}
you can find some of margaret's pieces for sale at uncommon goods.

wow
oh wow! That's incredible.
I once tried to make a simple flat sheet of "fruit papyrus" and wound up with a disgusting moldy mess, so I find Dorfman's work especially impressive!
Those are really cool, what a fun find!
