my husband and i rented this adorable studio apartment on the ile saint louis (on the top floor of a six-story walk up... the owners advertised it as "free exercise"... haha!) for twelve days in september. paris, here we come!
i seriously cannot wait. last time robin and i attempted a paris trip together, it didn't work out exactly as planned... he had planned on proposing to me there, but i ended up getting horribly sick and spent most of the time in bed. tragic, i know... so we owe ourselves a do-over!
my parents got me a bunch of amazing paris guide books for my birthday (including this and this), so i've got some serious reading to do before then. i want to make sure that this time around, we don't miss out on anything!
xoxo,
lesley
p.s. we're also planning on taking side trips to brussels and amsterdam, so if you have any suggestions on what to do in either of those places, let me know!

: )
what a pretty apartment!
That looks amazing! I hope you have an incredible time. And take lots of pictures to share :)
GORGEOUS. Totally green, wish it could be me.
Oh how lucky you are! I am drooling over that cute little apartment! Have a great trip!
how cool, you are soooooo LUCKY!
weird question, but do you have internet connection in there? i would love to do this as long as i could get on my computer :))
i hope you let us all know about your trip on your blog - I cannot wait to hear about it!
Brussels - The Main Square in Brussels is fantastic. Highlights include waffles, chocolate and ice cream, Mannequin Pis (Which we called Piss Boy) and the Tintin Musesum. It's also worth a trip to Mini Europe (the Tackiest place on earth) which is beside the EU. Brussels is great fun. Look out for the bar just off the main square which brews it's own beer. It's fab
Amsterdam - The Heineken Brewery, the Zoo, the Sex Museum and the Van Gogh Museum are good fun. It's worth renting bikes to get around as transport is very expensive. Visit the Red Light District and try a few 'cafes' to taste the seedier side of Amsterdam because you haven't seen Amsterdam without it.
Have a great time. Paris is amazing
Actually, do you have a link to where you hired this particular apartment? I'll be in Paris in October and it would be a nice change from a hotel!
spearmint - i'm not sure if we'll have internet there, but many of the apartments available do. unfortunately i don't have a laptop so i won't be able to be blogging while i'm there, but you can expect tons of photos and stories when i get back!
white rabbit - thanks for all the tips for brussels and amsterdam! i found this particular studio on parisaddress.com, but there are tons of other great websites to try as well... vrbo.com and paristay.com have a ton!

lesley

Thank you so much for the websites!
